On the night of November 1st, 2024, A few people and I went down to Huntington Recital Hall to record both the Capital University Big Band and Lab Band. The two bands played around 10 songs combined and played for about an hour a piece. To prepare for this concert recording, we used two sets of room mics, a pair of KM184s in the front and a pair of SM812 in the back. We also had two SM58s set for solo mics for the brass and saxes. Everything was then routed through a Dante rig and run through Ethernet cable into ProTools for tracking. We recorded and mixed all of the songs that were played throughout the concert. The two tracks that I mixed were Olcupaca and Fantastic Rhythm which you can find in the portfolio section.
